You can also expect to see Wild Dog, both Black and White Rhino, extensive plains game, including Sable, Gemsbok, Springbok and Giraffe, as well as over 340 species of birds. Arrive by air after an easy 45 minute flight from Gauteng, or enjoy a scenic 3½ drive on tarred roads to the entrance of the Reserve. We look forward to welcoming you to this 'must see' destination and promise you a superb bush experience enhanced by our personal service.
ACCOMMODATION
Jaci's Safari Lodge
Jaci's Safari Lodge is situated at an ideal spot overlooking an established and well used water hole, under a grove of Tamboetie trees, on the edge of the Marico River. The main complex is different, open plan, curved around a huge anthill, under shady trees overlooking the water hole and on the banks of the Marico River.
Safari Lodge has eight beautifully furnished rooms designed in the style of tents with roll-able canvas sides, each with an en-suite bathroom and magnificent outside shower. The deck in front of the room allows you to sit and enjoy the surrounding sights and smells of the bushveld - whilst watching the animals walking past to drink. The walls in the bathroom are built using natural rock and the bath was constructed on site. Children sharing with their parents are comfortably accommodated on camping stretchers in the rooms. Maximum 3 children per room.
Jaci's Tree Lodge:
has eight "tree houses", each encompassing a giant Tamboetie or Leadwood Tree. Each “tree house” is constructed amongst the riverine forest on stilts, up to 4 meters from the ground. In these spacious tree houses – built, utilising a combination of rosewood, thatch and stacking doors. An open plan, en-suite bathroom with an enormous stone bath and outdoor “jungle shower” allow you to enjoy your forest surrounds. Raised wooden walkways link all the rooms to the main lodge.
Private Family Suites
These two exciting additions to Jaci’s offer an exclusive “bush retreat” for families travelling together.
Nare Suite:
so named because of the resident Buffalo Bull who frequents the waterhole in front of the Suite. The Nare Suite accommodates a minimum of 4 and a maximum of 6 persons to offer our guests an exclusive bush retreat. Both bedrooms have canvas sides with a handmade rock bath and outdoor safari shower. An upstairs loft room is ideal for children. A private plunge pool, built within the wooden viewing deck, overlooks a fabulous waterhole, and incorporates an outdoor dining area. The Nare Suite is equipped with a private game drive vehicle and guide.
The Safari Suite
The Safari Suite is the ideal family suite with two double bedrooms and two children’s rooms. It is beautifully positioned overlooking the Groot Marico River with a private pool and wrap-around decks. With Jaci’s trademark shaggy thatch roofs, sliding doors and canvas all opening to the magnificent views, you can enjoy the privacy offered by the Safari Suite. Accommodating a minimum of 5 and a maximum of 8 persons - combined with the flexibility of your own game drive vehicle and private guide, the Safari Suite is an ideal option for a family travelling together on a family safari.
Facilities
Relax, on the deck in front of your room, in the main lodge or cool off in one of the swimming pool overlooking the river. Fire cooked meals are prepared by our professional chefs, and eaten outside around the open fire in the boma under the stars, or out in the bush on a "braai", surrounded by nature.
Weddings
Jaci's provides outstanding venues, complete with a team of people to ensure your special day is hassle free. At Jaci's we assist you in planning the perfect day. We have catered for several weddings from 2 to 80 persons, each created around the individual needs of the wedding couple. Our wedding package includes our usual daily activities and meals. The extra details (flowers, pastor, photographer, etc.) are privately arranged and we can assist once everything is at the lodge. |
