DESCRIPTION:

The Forum Homini five star boutique hotel is located in a private game reserve, The Cradle of Humankind, one of the world's most famous heritage sites. Here you can explore the planet of the ages and visit a dozen dolomitic limestone caves. View the fossilised remains of ancient forms of animals, plants and most importantly, hominids - all this just 40 minutes from Johannesburg and Pretoria.

Accommodation

Sweeping views of the valley abound from the luxury suites with roofs covered in African veld. The twelve deluxe suites are like sophisticated caves with raked off shutter concrete roofs that open up onto the view beyond. Suites include: stalactite lights handmade by Karen Vermeulen; fireplaces designed to make the fire look as if it's encased by glass; king size luxury beds; large oval baths and open-air showers.

The honeymoon suite is beautifully appointed to allow for further privacy. It is larger and even more luxurious than the deluxe suites.

The presidential suite has all the 'wild' features of the deluxe units but is double in size. It has an en-suite room, double fireplaces and separate boardroom facilities for private meetings. It also has its very own rock pool.

Main discussion room seats 60 -100 people.
Boardroom and adjacent private dining room with seating for 8-20 pax, overlooking the dam.
Media centre with plasma screen and seating for +/- 10 to 15 pax and internet points.

Weddings

Get married in the ultimate of intimate settings: the middle of an untouched wilderness full of indigenous birds, trees and fragrant fauna. With your feet firmly planted on ancient earth – you can seal your vows under the stars of the African night sky.

The Forum Hall at Forum Homini can cater up to 80 guests for the reception (without a dance floor) about 60 guests (with a dance floor). This double-volume forum has doors that open out on three sides which make for an uncluttered, airy space.

Dining

The culinary philosophy centers around pure, clear flavours that are decisive and refined. The African, Asian heritage so evident in the cooking is combined together with traditional French roots, creating soulful dishes that exude passion in every bite.

The Roots experience is all about sharing exquisite food and wine in the company of good friends. Amazing African hospitality will narrow the distance and time between our international and South African clientele. The service is in complete harmony with the cuisine. Local farm ingredients are used together with natural food from the bush, such as "bush tea" herbs and plants, infused with hot water and honey. The food is prepared with modern cooking techniques and imagination, unparalled anywhere in South Africa.
